7km Salt River Loop | Best way to finish your year
The Natures Valley Trail Challenge is back for its second year, and it is the best way to finish your running year. Come run a 7km loop through some of the most beautiful coastline and forest Nature’s Valley has to offer!
The route
The race starts and the 4th Beach, Nature’s Valley’s main beach and finishes on the grass patch just down the road from Natures Valley Trust, on Lagoon Drive. The 7km Salt River Loop is clearly demarcated, with marshals along the route to guide you and red ribbon to show you that you are on course. There is a rocky section along the coast. Slow down, watch your step and look after your race. The finish line is on the grass patch next to Nature’s Valley Trust. Big orange cones and marshals will guide you from the beach, past the lagoon parking lot and to the finish.
Race day
- Race numbers: Arrive early and go straight to the tables at Beach 4 to receive your race number and sign the SanParks indemnity form
- Race briefing: 7:15
- Start: 7:30
- Prizegiving: Approximately 9:00
At the finish
Once you’ve crossed the line, you will receive a water and an additional complimentary drink on us. There will be music and good vibes, so stick around.

About Cape Sport Co and me
I am Justin Tucker, founder of Cape Sport Co. We are an events business built around trail running, road running and 7-a-side football. I grew up in Nature’s Valley, and these trails and beaches are where trail running began for me! Bringing a community trail run here to Nature's means a lot. The Trail Challenge is a family-friendly, community-orientated event, and we are looking forward to having you there.
